John, 60: from a 10cm step to a 60cm box jump
At 60, John went from stepping onto a 10cm block to jumping a 60cm box, and lost 5kg along the way. The scale moved least of all.

Assess — the starting point
John was sixty, and his brief was simple: more energy, better movement, and to stop feeling like age was making the decisions. Weight was part of it, but it was never the headline.
His first session set the baseline honestly. A 10cm block was the right height for John to step onto: a starting point, not a verdict.
Build — what we did
Strength work built from the ground up and progressed week by week. Box height became the measure John could see: a small step, then a slightly bigger one, then a jump instead of a step.
Alongside it, the unglamorous part: turning up consistently, eating enough protein, and letting recovery do its job. Smaller boxes built John's habit. Bigger boxes are what the habit bought him.
Perform — the result
John now jumps a 60cm box, from a 10cm step-up, at 60 years old.
The scale moved 5kg, which is the least interesting number here. What changed was John's everyday life: more energy, easier movement, real strength, and the confidence that comes from proving the ceiling was never where he thought it was.
It's not just about losing weight. It's about gaining life.
